Charles Ray Castellaw was born
May 28, 1923 in the Holly Grove Community, Tennessee. After
growing up on a small farm during the Great Depression, he
graduated from high school and was drafted into the military to become a
soldier in World War II. He served in the European Theater of
Operation. After the war, Castellaw received his B.S. degree from the
University of Tennessee in agriculture and an M.A. from Memphis State
University in education administration.
For twenty-three years, he
taught secondary education and was a school administrator for nine years in
the Weakley County School System in Tennessee. During this time, he
was also a magistrate in Sharon, Tennessee.
Married in 1951 to
Sarah Stoker, an elementary school teacher, they had three sons. He is now
the Founder and Director of C. C. Publishing. Mr. Castellaw
resides in Henry County, Tennessee, with his
second wife and high school sweetheart, Betty Jo Castellaw.
